The short version Your training data stays on your phone and in your own iCloud account. There are no accounts to create, no advertising, and no tracking. We cannot see your workouts. The only information that ever leaves your phone is what you put into the AI workout builder, and only at the moment you tap generate.
Who we are
SETT is an iPhone app made by Parallel 53 Studio. This policy explains what the app does with your information. If anything here is unclear, please get in touch — contact details are at the bottom.
What stays on your device
Almost everything. The following never leaves your phone except to sync with your own private iCloud account:
- Your workouts, sets, weights, reps and personal bests
- Your exercise library, including any exercises you create
- Your saved workouts and circuits
- Your profile: gender, date of birth, height, body weight, training goal and experience level
- Your body measurement history
- Your app settings
This data is stored on your device and, if you are signed into iCloud, synced through Apple's CloudKit so it appears on your other devices and survives a phone upgrade. That sync happens inside your own iCloud account. We have no access to it, no ability to read it, and no copy of it on any server we control. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's own privacy policy.
The AI workout and circuit builder
This is the one feature that sends information off your device, and only when you actively ask it to generate something. When you tap generate, we send:
| What | Example |
|---|---|
| The equipment you ticked | dumbbell, machine |
| The type of session | push, pull, legs, full body |
| Your experience level | intermediate |
| How long you have | 45 minutes |
| Your training goal | build muscle |
| Anything you type in the notes box | "my left shoulder is sore" |
| For circuits, your description | "full body circuit, 30 seconds on, 1 minute rest" |
That request goes to our server, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude API to produce the workout, and returns the result to your phone.
Worth knowing The notes box is free text, and people often mention injuries or health conditions in it. Anything you type there is sent as part of the request. If you would rather not share something, leave it out — the feature works without it.
We do not store your requests or the workouts generated from them. Our server holds nothing after it has answered. Anthropic processes the request to generate a response and, under their API terms, does not use it to train their models. Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps short-lived operational logs of requests made to the server, which include IP addresses, as is standard for any website.
If you never use the AI builder, nothing about you is ever sent anywhere.
Apple Health
SETT can write your completed strength sessions to Apple Health, and read workout data from it so your training shows up alongside everything else your phone tracks. This is entirely optional and off until you allow it. Health data is exchanged directly between the app and Apple Health on your device — it is never sent to us and never sent to the AI builder. You can withdraw permission at any time in the iPhone Health app, under Sharing.
Purchases
SETT Pro is bought through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active. We never see your card details, your billing address, or your Apple Account. Refunds and cancellations are handled by Apple.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, sign-ups, passwords or email collection
- No analytics or usage tracking of any kind
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No third-party trackers or marketing tools in the app
- No selling or sharing of your information with anyone
Children
SETT is intended for people aged 16 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights and your data
Because your training data lives on your own device and in your own iCloud, you are already in control of it:
- To see it: it is all visible in the app.
- To export it: SETT Pro can export your full history as a CSV file.
- To delete it: Settings has a delete-all-data option, and deleting the app removes its data from your device. To remove the iCloud copy, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, then Manage Account Storage.
Under UK GDPR you have rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data. Since we do not hold it, you can exercise all of these yourself using the steps above. If you need help, contact us and we will assist.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
